Top Blooms for your Winter Wedding
Updated: Feb 3, 2019
Winter wonderland weddings are not hard to come by, even here in Texas! With flowers being such an integral part of weddings it is no surprise they can turn a simple winter wedding into a wonderland!

For the biggest impact on your wedding, like we always say, use flowers in mass! From white to blue to pink, any flower is best used with its friends. Since some winter weddings (especially here in Texas) are outdoors, it is best to use flowers that like it a little brisk. In fact all flowers love it colder than hotter. Hydrangeas and tulips do really well in cool temperatures as they tend to stay fresh for longer than in warmer temperatures. Also try adding a few flowers that compliment the winter weather, like blue thistle or Ilex berries! The great thing is greenery is always a go to even in cooler weather. Using it in mass really creates an impact, which is what you want to see on your big day.
While we adore all white flowers for winter weddings, it never hurts to have a pop of color to bring depth and texture to the over all feel of the wedding. One of our brides wanted to make sure her wedding was classic and not tied to the season. We did just that by focusing on a neutral color pallet with a touch of blush.

I'm sure you are wondering what exact flowers we love for winter weddings now! Here they are (in no specific order as we don't play favorites with our beauties): hydrangeas, orchids, ranunculus, roses (always & forever choose roses!), tulips, anemones, delphinium, blue thistle, silver brunia balls, dusty miller, smilax, Christmas greens (if you want that holiday touch), jasmine and eucalyptus. All of these flowers in any color and at any time of the year are always gorgeous so choose away or be daring and let your trusted florist Franzie's Flower Design, design something straight out of your dreams!
